Jean-Paul Florencio, founder and developer of Version Tracker

Version Tracker is imagined, designed and developed by Jean-Paul Florencio.

Jean-Paul is no newcomer to the Apple world. Co-founder of Intego in 1997, he built it into one of the world's leading Macintosh security software companies, with VirusBarrier and NetBarrier among others. After selling his shares in 2007, he founded Damabia, one of the first French iPhone software publishers, with Paris Trafic and its 2 million users, and creator of the macOS app AppStar, an aggregator of information from iTunes Connect for developers on the App Store.

In 2025, after MacUpdater announced it was shutting down — and unconvinced by the available alternatives — he took up the challenge and built Version Tracker. Version 1.0 shipped on 18 June 2026.
